When homeowners plan and construct additions to their slate-topped domiciles, the telephone at McCreesh has a way of ringing up a familiar request: match the existing slate on the new structure or addition - and seal up everything with new copper flashing.
|
This was exactly the challenge at the Hartford County residence shown. We replaced the sun room slate roof with a new vermont gray slate to perfectly match the rest of the rooftop.
Below: note the new copper flashing running the length of the roof along the stone wall. Whenever a rooftop meets another structure, flashing is necessary to provide secure water protection. | |

When the work has been completed, the old and the new blend perfectly ... as if the addition had always been there! |
